AWDC – St Wulstans June 2011
Well the weekend started early, we arrived on site on Friday night in the rain, it had stopped by the time we got up on Saturday, but the big black cloud stayed above us all day, even though we could see sun around us most of the day. The highlight of the evening was the ‘chippy’ van’s arrival!
Sunday morning we woke to fog – this cleared before 9 o’clock – ready for drivers briefing at 9.30
We were first car off the line at 10 o’clock – we set a steady time of 9 mins 56 – putting us 4th – the course was incredibly slippy and we had be warned that there would be heavy penalties if we strayed off the course.
Back to the start for run 2, we saw Chris Hammond set off, then it was our turn, managed about 10 metres then disaster struck no 3rd or 4th gears.
Back to the pits – end of the race for us!
