AWDC – Ilfracombe July 2011
Set off from home at 5.30am on Friday to miss the traffic and get a bit of Devon sunshine, after a few missed turns we arrived on site. Spent a nice afternoon in Ilfracombe sampling the local cream teas.
We stayed at camp on Saturday, some of the others had an afternoon at the beach, I had a ride around the course with TT in his ‘setting out disco’, which I was glad of as it was 5 1/2 miles of hills! Rick walked round then hitched a ride again with TT to the finish.
Sunday fairly dry under foot – but still a lot of moisture in the grass – could be slippy! First run was slippy, but put in a fairly good time. Second run – forgot about the bumps – nearly lost it! Third run – getting better – but whoops a 360 going up hill – nice view! It was then I asked if I could have my usual driver back. Managed to complete all 10 runs – with only a puncture.

Brillant course, great weekend and as usual great company! Roll on Seven Oaks.
